Eric

Eric has a background in biophysics but has turned into a maverick scientist and entrepreneur. He has experience working in the Multisensory Brain and Cognition Lab at the University of Waterloo helping graduate students develop neuroscience experiments for their research projects using Unreal Engine (UE4). 

Eric is the Chief Executive and Architect Officer (CEO) of Π∩ϟ and is focused on developing software and hardware technologies that will help advance medicine and healthcare in the bio-economy. He has done consulting for both the public and private sector on the topic. Eric has given talks for the Royal Canadian Institute of Science on how the healthcare system can be greatly improved by utilizing software as medicine relating it back to his own cancer journey with a message of hope. His current work began with an invitation to participate in the Big Data VR Challenge hosted by Wellcome Trust and Epic Games in 2015 where he worked on visualizing big data sets using VR, specifically those generated by the human genome project. Eric now uses Unreal Engine in his research workflow & development pipeline to rapidly prototype interrogate new models with simulations and visualizations.
